Privacy Policy for Camera Translator

1. General Information

This Privacy Policy explains how Camera Translator collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Android application with package name com.mtk.cameratranlation.

2. Data the App May Access

• Camera: the app requires camera permission so it can scan and recognize text when you intentionally open the camera.
• Selected target language: the app stores your chosen target language locally on your device for future use.
• Text content inside the scan area: this is processed temporarily for OCR and translation and is not stored as a history inside the app.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not create user accounts.
• We do not request your phone number, email address, contacts, or location.
• We do not store captured images, camera video, or translation results on the developer's own servers.
• We do not create behavioral analytics profiles, user accounts, payments, or developer-operated tracking databases.

4. How Data Is Processed

Camera Translator uses Google ML Kit to recognize and translate text. Based on the app's current behavior, OCR and translation are performed primarily on-device. The developer does not operate a separate server to receive your camera images or translated content.

5. Language Model Downloads

When you select a target language, Google ML Kit may need to download a translation model to your device if that model is not already available. This process may use a network connection through Google-provided platform services. Any processing related to Google's platform services is governed by Google's own policies.

6. Storage and Retention

• Your selected target language is stored locally on the device using the app's local storage.
• Camera content and recognized text are used temporarily to display the current result.
• You can remove stored app data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may only be involved where necessary for platform services such as translation model downloads, or when required by law.

8. Advertising

Camera Translator may display ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID, device information, and ad interaction signals to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads, depending on your device settings and consent choices. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own advertising and privacy policies.

You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID, limit ad personalization, or adjust related privacy settings in your device settings where supported by your Android version.

9. Your Choices and Rights

• You may deny camera permission, but the live camera translation feature will not function.
• You may delete app data at any time from your Android settings.
• You may stop using the app if you do not agree with this Privacy Policy.

10. Children's Privacy

The app is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children. If you believe sensitive data has been processed unintentionally, please contact the developer.

11. Security

We aim to minimize stored data and prioritize on-device processing whenever possible. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when app features change. The latest version will be posted on this page together with the updated date.
