TikTok Ringtones respects user privacy and is designed to provide ringtone browsing, audio preview, and ringtone-setting features with minimal data access.

Core Functionality

The app allows users to browse ringtone items, preview ringtone audio, and set a selected sound as the device ringtone after a user-initiated action.

Permissions We Use

• Modify system settings (`WRITE_SETTINGS`): used only when a user chooses to set a ringtone.
• Foreground service / media playback: used to support audio preview while the app is active or running in the background during playback.
• Internet / network state: used for normal app connectivity and Google Play delivery-related behavior where applicable.
• Legacy external storage on Android 9 and below: used only for compatibility when writing ringtone media on older Android versions.

How Audio Content Is Delivered

The app uses Google Play Asset Delivery to obtain bundled audio content that is part of the app experience. The app does not require the user to browse arbitrary audio files from device storage for the current ringtone flow.

How Ringtone Setting Works

When a user explicitly chooses to set a ringtone, the app may request access to modify system settings so the selected sound can be applied as the device ringtone. This access is used only after a direct user action.

Background Playback

The app may use a foreground media playback service to preview audio. When preview is active, Android may display a playback notification so the user can manage or stop playback.

Advertising

The app uses Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect or process device and advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver, measure, and improve ads, subject to Google's policies and the user's consent choices where required by law.
